QuiltRBuddy — Children’s Privacy

Not made for children under 13

QuiltRBuddy is a quilting design tool for Windows, written for adult and teen quilters. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA, 15 U.S.C. § 6501 et seq.) and its rule (16 CFR Part 312).

  • The App has no chat, no public posting, and no advertising.
  • The App’s content and our marketing are written for adults and teens.
  • The App’s Microsoft Store age rating is set through the Store’s age-rating questionnaire.

What the App can send

The App sends us information only in these ways, all described in our Privacy Policy:

  • Your free trial and free-year keys. The App checks with our server to know when the trial started and whether a key was used. The Privacy Policy says what is kept.
  • Usage counts, only if they are switched on.
  • Problem reports, only when someone fills in the Feedback form and sends it.

The Privacy Policy says what each one carries and how long it is kept.

Teens, schools and families

If a younger person uses QuiltRBuddy at home or in a class, we recommend that a parent, teacher or administrator:

  • turns usage counts off in Edit → Preferences;
  • does not let the child send problem reports; and
  • does the Google sign-in with an adult’s account.

If a child under 13 has sent us information

If you believe a child under 13 has sent us a problem report or other information, contact us. We will delete it within 30 days and will not share it with anyone.
